Ashfield Boys High School offers the Duke of Edinburgh program
The Duke of Edinburgh program aims to develop both leadership skills and confidence in its participants through the achievement of personal goals and providing them with a sense of community via authentic experiences such as volunteering and adventurous journeys.
The Duke of Edinburgh participants grow their independence via the achievement of goals in the areas of:
- Volunteering - helping at a nursing home
- Skills - language learning, playing a musical instruments
- Physical recreation - personal bests at athletic activities
The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Australia -NSW (the Duke of Ed) is a fully inclusive global youth development framework, empowering young people aged 14-24 to explore their full potential and find their purpose, passion, and place in the world, regardless of their location or circumstance.
