International Students

Ashfield Boys High School is an inner city boys' high school located in a cosmopolitan area 10 km west of the Sydney city centre.

It is situated close to excellent public transport by bus and train. The school offers a curriculum which is varied, challenging and addresses individual student needs. A strong emphasis is placed on academic success and student achievement within a personalised and caring atmosphere. The philosophy of the school provides a variety of teaching strategies that cater to a range of learning styles. The school's purpose is to engage all students in effective learning and to prepare them for the challenges of tertiary study and career development.

The school offers special programs for gifted and talented students, students from non-English speaking backgrounds and students with learning difficulties. Class sizes are small and a team structure is a feature of the organisation of the junior school. Senior school courses cater well for both academic and vocational pathways.

English as a second language (ESL) programs

  • The school offers an academic bridging program for overseas students to assist with HSC subjects. Tutoring support is provided after school through the homework centre.
